Manchester City cannot afford to let the FA Cup chances slip when they face struggling Championship side Plymouth Argyle on Saturday.

That is the view of pundit Chris Sutton of the fifth round clash with the competition representing the last chance, Club World Cup aside, for City to win a trophy this season.

Argyle have already shocked the footballing world in this year’s FA Cup, knocking out two Premier League teams on their way to the fifth round - first Brentford and then top flight champions elect Liverpool

"Argyle have gone really direct under new manager Miron Muslic," said Sutton. "It's a great clash of styles with the possession football that Pep Guardiola plays, but the problem if you keep going long against City is that you keep giving them the ball back."

Argyle’s pragmatic style of play frustrated Liverpool in the previous round. Since replacing Wayne Rooney 10 games ago, new manager Muslic has implemented a five at the back formation, which has seen the side become harder to beat.

If City make the same mistake as Liverpool did they could find it hard to break down the Plymouth defence. However, if City do get the first goal, it could very easily turn into a rout. Sutton predicts City will win 5-0.
